My Tartan
For the past week and a half we have been making a Tartan. We had to search up on google our surname then Tartan. We then got a picture up and whatever the base color was and got a piece of paper. After getting the piece of paper we ruled out some lines on the paper 1 cm apart and cut it. We got some colored strips of paper and weaved them into the base color. When we were done weaving we put pva glue all over the paper to stick the strips down. We did the same on the back but added a piece of paper. After the gluing we picked a boarder color and glued them down to the sided of the paper. Here are some photos.

ReplyDeleteI'm Venessa Davan, a Manaiakalani Facilitator from the Te Hiku cluster in the north. Your teacher was sharing her class site with the group today and I stumbled upon your blog. I like the colours you have chosen for your tartan creation and I can tell that you have taken your time to make sure this looks just right! Does this tartan represent your surname? Could you explain that to me? I wonder what my tartan would look like?
Hello Venessa,
DeleteThank you for commenting on my blog. Thank you for your positive feed back. Yeah I searched up my last name the tartan on google and I came up with that. I kind of switched it up a bit though. To look for your you can just search up your last name then tartan then it should be the first photo.
Kind Regards Trinity
Thank you for your reply Trinity. I had a little search to find my last name tartan. Interesting what comes up. I think it is great that you switched it up a bit, it makes it more unique and you!
DeleteHello Trinity,
ReplyDeleteYour colour choice really match each other. And the border colour makes the weaving stand out.
Your blurb is amazing, it is very detailed when you describe how to make it. How long did it take for you to finish it?
Have a good day!
