Day 5, Activity 3: Own Choice 


For this activity, please choose one person (a changemaker) and read all about them.

On your blog, provide us with:

The name of the person is Jessica Watson.

Jessica's job that she does right on this day is sailing.  Jessica is a sailor.

She has told a lot of people that anything is possible and never give up if you have a goal and you have not reached it.  She even wrote a book called true spirit to tell people about her life about being a sailor and about Jessica sailing around the whole world solo.

When I started to read I knew that she was an amazing person.  She really loves to swim and it was amazing that she saved 20 people's lives by swimming that is just amazing.  She was only eighteen when she started swimming.  She was born on  March 5th, 1998 and on this she is twenty-one and she stills loves to swim.

I interviewed my cousin Blake.

His dream job was he would like to own a business.  Because he can be his own boss and make his own decision. He thinks it would be a really cool job to have.

On my blog, I had to list the three superpowers, I had to write why I would want each of those superpowers and I had to write about each one of them.



1.  Flying.  I would love to have the power to fly because it would be really cool to not have to use my legs and I could get places so much faster.

2.  Speed walking.  I would love to have the power to speed walk because it is a power that I have always dreamed of having because it sounds really cool.

3.  Being invisible.  I would like to have the power to turn invisible because it sounds really cool to turn invisible while just doing something and then I just turn invisible.

For this activity, we had to write about when you or someone else you know did something brave and we had to recap that onto a blog post here is when someone I know did something brave. I chose myself.

Here is my recount:

I did something brave when I was about 2 or 3 its when I lived in Dueniden what I did was I went down a massive hill on a bike I did that because everyone else was doing it and I was scared at first but when I did it the first time I was scared for that but every other time after that I loved it so much.  My family was so proud of me when I did it and it was fun.

In class, we have been learning about personal hygiene we made animations and had to write what our cartoon person does not do such as wash His or Her hands and stuff like that then He or she started to do those things such as wash his or her hands.

In class this week our school-wide expectation is Classroom environment. We had to make a +-? Dlo(Digital learning objects) meaning the plus means what we are good at the minus means what we are not good at and the question means what now so how you could fix this Classroom environment is like how tidy it is and stuff like that. In class, we have been learning about Hygiene we had to make a slide to say what we should do to keep our personal hygiene good. Such as taking showers brush teeth and stuff like that. We were allowed to work with other people on our slides so Lacie (my friend) and I created this slide about personal hygiene.

In class a couple of days ago we did an e-asTTle writing assessment. Then the teacher created a writing for linc ed slide that we had to put our e-asTTle test on to it but first, you had to organize it into paragraphs and then copy and paste it on to the slide. we also had to add images to the slide to go along with the writing. Be Friendly

This week at school our value is be friendly we had to make a google drawing about it and I collaborated with two people Cayleigh and Kareem.  We have different sections on the google drawing where we had to write what we had to write.  There are four different things on it.  Here it is, enjoy.



Being friendly is good because if you are not friendly you will not make any friends but if you are friendly more people will want to be your friend.

Fanimals!

Fanimals!

Today at Gilberthorpe school we got to have Fanimals come in.  They brought Molson the dog in he is so cute and fluffy.  If you do not know what Fanimals is it is a show about animals and they explain some facts about the animals they show.  We even got to pat Molson.  We also got a card signed by Jess.  We even got a photo with them.  Here are the photos.  The photos are with Whakamanawa.










We had so much fun when Fanimals came.

Orana Wildlife Park 2019

Orana Wildlife Park 2019

Yesterday the whole Takitini hub got to go on an Orana Park trip.  Our educator's name is Elizabeth.  I learned so much about animals.  I learned lots and had fun.
I learned that the tiger is skin is also striped so If you take off its fur it stripes will still be there.
I learned that the giraffe's tounges are as long as our educator's arm.
I learned that giraffes have the same amount of neck bones as humans but they have longer bones.

I learned that the gorilla is our first cousin.

I learned that the male lions weigh more than the female lions.

I learned that the Orangutan likes to carry around a blanket.

Orana Park was so much fun but I still learned lots about these animals.

Amazon Rainforest

Amazon Rainforest
In Literacy, this week we had to make a google slide about the Amazon Rainforest.  We had to answer two facts that my Literacy teacher told us to answer on our slide.  Then we had to do two of our own questions and then answer them after that we had to come to our last two things and they are how big is the Amazon Rainforest, and my own rainforest.  Here it is.

My next step is to learn more about the Amazon Rainforest.
