Evaluating Media

 Evaluating Media

Today for our cyber smart lesson Mark (from Uru Mankua) Didn't come in so my teacher Miss McCombie told the class what to do. For our activity we had to look for a quote that like and open a google drawing add a background then write in the quote we chose. I chose a quote from Steve Jobs. After we finished that we had to publish it to our blog. Then we had to comment on other people's blog's. Here is mine.

Cartoons, and Comics whats the difference?

Cartoons, and Comics whats the difference?

For our reading we got given an activity were we got a link to a page were there is different activity's to do. We have to have two activity's published on our blog post Friday. For my first activity is to find the difference between a Comic Strip, Comic Book, and a Cartoon. I researches about this and got the information I found and put it on a google doc. Do you like Cartoons and Comics?

What is the Difference Between a Comic Strip, a Comic Book, and a Cartoon?

What is a Comic Strip?

A Comic is a table of drawings in different boxes that tell a story. Printed in a newspaper or magazine.

What is a Comic Book?

A Comic Book is like a Comic Strip just longer and in a book form. A magazine that presents a story, typically featuring the adventures of a superhero.

What is a Cartoon?

A Cartoon is a short or long video of animated things telling a story. Rather than using real people they use objects and different kinds of animations.

What Is The Difference?

Comic and Cartoon are two words that are closely related, but they do not mean the same thing. A Comic is a book or magazine that consists of Comic art that forms a story or a series of something telling a story. Cartoon usually refers to an illustration or series of illustrations that are made into a TV show or other things like that. The difference between the two is that a comic is usually printed on a magazine or newspaper, and a Cartoon is usually a TV show type thing but you can also get a Cartoon printed into a book.

For the past week and a bit we (room 21) have been working on our passion project. A passion project is when you chose a topic and you find information about that topic and put it onto a google slide. You have to add stuff like videos, people, etc. My topic is photography. Have you made a passion project?

Talking About Our Trees

 Talking About Our Trees

Today we had Mary from Orchards For Schools came back and talked to us about how we have to look after our trees. We learnt that we actually have to cut of any fruit that grows because the tree isn't strong enough to hold all the fruit. After talking to everyone about that we went off to look at out trees to see how they are doing. After that we went and looked at the tree at the front of the school to see how that was doing. Then Miss McCombie told us to go get a ruler to see how much our trees have grown. You do that by putting the bottom of the ruler at the wood part of the tree and see how much is has grown. My first tree grew 4 cm and then my other one grew 26 cm. When we planted the trees I was in a group with Leandri, Rihana, and Summer (from the upper middles). Miss McCombie also got some photos of us and the other plants. Do you like planting?
