Hitting The Target - Rewritten

 Hitting The Target - Rewritten

For writing in term 2 we started to look at our story telling story which is hitting the target. After we looked at the story we had to write it again in our own way, but we had to keep the main points of the story.

There was a young man named Felix. He wanted to be the best archer in his country. Felix wanted to be the best so all he did was practice and practice until he hit a bullseye.

One day after he won a competition a short man came up to Felix and started conversation. "You're good but, I know someone better," the short man spoke. "Impossible," Felix replied. "Well, follow me and I shall show you to him." Felix followed the young man. They arrived at a barn. "Follow me."

As they walked Felix looked around. On one side of the barn there were about a hundred archery targets red circles within blue circles. Every target had an arrow stuck perfectly in the center of the bullseye.

The unknown man came out to say hello "Hello, my name is Jeffery," the man spoke. "Hi, I'm Felix," Felix replied. "How do you do it?" Felix asked. "Do what?" Jeffery asked. "How do you get your arrow in the exact center of the bullseye?" "Well," Jeffery started "you do things your way and I do things my way. You see first I shoot the arrow, then I paint the target around".

Felix looked at him with a confused look. "So your cheating." "Yes, yes I am," Jeffery confessed. "Well that's not very fair," Felix spoke. "Like I said, you do things your way and I do things my way," Jeffery walked away before Felix could reply. He was left there confused and disappointed.

  1. Kia ora Trin,
I hope you are staying safe at home!
Thank you for sharing your rewritten story of 'Hitting the Target'. There is a great lesson to be learned from this...I know that if I was practicing Tennis everyday for a competition and someone cheated in the tournament I would be furious. Hard work and commitment pays off in the long run. Would you be annoyed if someone cheated like this?
Looking forward to seeing you at 9am tomorrow on our class Google Meet.
    Stay safe,
    Miss McCombie

    1. Kia Ora Miss McCombie,
My family and I are staying safe at home. I hope you are too. Thank you for commenting on my blog. I would definitely be annoyed if someone cheated in a game I was playing. Have a good day.
